The Washington Wizards are off to a very slow start to the season so far and despite winning four of their last six games, still find themselves sitting on a 6-10 record.

However, even with their dismal win-loss slate, team president Ernie Grunfeld is not keen on making a move just yet and will likely stay with his current roster.

“The defensive effort has gotten better and with Ian Mahinmi back to help bolster the second unit, team president Ernie Grunfeld doesn’t seem likely to make a decision this early. Giving up on rookies such as Danuel House, Sheldon McClellan and Daniel Ochefu, all three on non-guarantees that are a minimal hit on the salary cap, to clear a roster spot wouldn’t make sense at this stage either.”

Over the past weeks, some of the team's members have spoken publicly and called out the other players to step up and try to win more games. The Wizards' starting center, Marcin Gortat, even went as far as calling their bench as one of the worst in the league and head coach Scott Brooks reportedly told John Wall he was the worst defender on the team by far.

Credit must be given to Grunfeld for sticking with his lineup and not pushing the panic button immediately. The Wizards are now starting to find their groove and it will be interesting how they will fare in their next few games. If they go on and string a few more wins together, it could still save their season and give them a fighting chance to compete for a playoff spot by mid-April.
