Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird is one of the game's greatest of all time, but that doesn't exempt her from being on the wrong end of highlight reel materials. Such was the case on Sunday after Los Angeles Sparks vet Erica Wheeler pulled an epic crossover on the WNBA legend.

Midway through the first quarter, Bird tried to catch up on Wheeler who drove to the right elbow. However, knowing that the 40-year-old was coming at her with some speed, Wheeler made the decision to stop and step back instead for the jumper. In the process, Bird was sent crashing to the floor.

A slow motion of the video showed how Erica Wheeler pulled off the crossover, leading Sue Bird to trip on herself and fall hard:

To add insult to the injury, the Sparks dominated the game as the Storm failed to get their offense going. The Seattle-based squad failed to score more than 15 points in each of the four quarters, while the LA team averaged 20 points per quarter en route to the 81-53 victory.

Wheeler bagged 17 points on top of two rebounds and four assists. Meanwhile, Bird had a rather pedestrian outing with three points and one rebound in 2 minutes of play.

Aside from the win, though, Erica Wheeler will certainly not forget her play on Sue Bird that could very well be the ankle breaker of the year.
