Sue Bird isn't done yet. Bird announced Friday she'll be returning to the Seattle Storm for the 2022 WNBA season instead of retiring.

Sue Bird has been with the Storm since almost the very beginning. She was the No. 1 pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft and has remained with the franchise for her entire WNBA career, becoming one of the best players in league history in the process.

The 41-year-old is a four-time WNBA champion and 12-time All-Star. She has a number of other accolades to her name, including five Olympic gold medals. She has career averages of 12.0 points and 5.6 assists wile shooting 39.3% from 3-point range.

Bird and the Storm were one of the better teams in the WNBA in 2021, earning the fourth-best record in the league. The legend continued to play well in the regular season, averaging 10.0 points and 5.3 assists while shooting 41.9% from 3-point land.

Unfortunately, the Storm lost in overtime to the Phoenix Mercury in the second round, ending their postseason thanks to single elimination. Seattle didn't have superstar Breanna Stewart for the game, which certainly made a huge difference.

Given that loss left the Storm with a bad taste in the mouth, it's not a huge surprise that Bird isn't calling it quits just yet. She'll be back to try to get one more WNBA title. Based on how she played last season, we know she's still got it.

We'll see if Sue Bird can end her WNBA career in style.
