At halftime of Sunday's game between the Chicago Sky and the Las Vegas Aces, the WNBA revealed the “W25,” a list of the 25 greatest players in WNBA history as voted on by “a panel of select media and women’s basketball pioneers.” The list was headlined by 10 current WNBA players: Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Elena Delle Donne, Sylvia Fowles, Brittney Griner, Angel McCoughtry, Nneka Ogwumike, Candace Parker, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi.

The other 15 slots on the list were filled by former players: Seimone Augustus, Swin Cash, Tamika Catchings, Cynthia Cooper, Yolanda Griffith, Becky Hammon, Lauren Jackson, Lisa Leslie, Maya Moore, Ticha Penicheiro, Cappie Pondexter, Katie Smith, Sheryl Swoopes, Tina Thompson and Lindsay Whalen.

The list was made to commemorate the WNBA's 25th season. The NBA made a similar list comprised of 50 players for its 50th anniversary back in 1997, and will no-doubt create a 75-player list for its 75th anniversary this upcoming season.

The WNBA also announced its “Vote for the GOAT” program, which will allow fans to vote online for who they think is the greatest WNBA player of all time. The voting stops on Sept. 19, and the winner will be revealed during the 2021 WNBA Finals, which will conclude on Oct. 19 at the latest.
