Jacksonville Jaguars star Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade, and one of the teams that are taking a close look is the Philadelphia Eagles according to ESPN's Tim McManus. The Eagles have Super Bowl aspirations this year, and they could be one key piece away from locking up the title? Is Jalen Ramsey that guy?

Cornerback is a key position for every team, and Ramsey would instantly make the position better, but there is still a lot of things to weigh for the Eagles.

Ronald Darby is currently the top cornerback for the Eagles, but he is coming off an ACL injury and has been picked on early this season. Over the first two games, he has been targeted 17 times, which is the fifth-most in the league.

Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas split reps at the other cornerback position, and they have had mixed results. If Ramsey were to join the team, it would make Jones and Douglas reserves, and they would be above average guys to come off the bench.

The Eagles also have seemed to have terrible luck with injuries and cornerback is always a position where a lot of depth is a good thing.

Ramsey also has a very favorable contract for right now. Ramsey is set to make about $17 million over the next two seasons and when you consider there are 10 cornerbacks in the NFL that make over $12.5 million a year that is a steal.

After his two seasons are up, he will be looking for a new deal and paying him the dollar amount he wants while also paying Wentz and the rest of the Eagles could prove to be tough. Ramsey could also try to hold out for a new deal after this season, and if the Eagles don't have the money to pay him, this essential could work out to be a trade for one season.

What the Eagles would have to give up for Ramsey would be steep, probably a couple of first-round draft picks, and that is quite the price to pay for one or two seasons.

There is no doubt that Ramsey would make this team better, but unless they are sure they have the funds to lock him up long term, I don't think it's worth giving up the future, for a couple of years of Ramsey.
