UPDATE: It is now confirmed, WWE 2K22 release date is on March 2022.

WWE 2K22 release date is reportedly not going to be this year.

According to Fightful Select (via Cultaholic), Take-Two Interactive's next WWE 2K game will not be coming out this year. Fightful Select reports that some WWE superstars made a comment that the WWE 2K22 game won't be coming out in 2021.

This claim has not yet been verified by Take-Two Interactive themselves. However, it has also been reported by Fightful Select that Take-Two Interactive is delaying a couple more titles, not just WWE 2K22. If confirmed, then WWE 2K22 might be the first title in the series to actually be released in the same year as its title. WWE 2K22 will be the first title in the series to be released since the disastrous launch of WWE 2K20 in 2019. This led to the studio skipping WWE 2K21 altogether.

Again, rumors will remain rumors until official verification of the publishers. With this in mind, there's still a likelihood that WWE 2K22 release date will still be Fall or Holiday 2021. But we're not really in a hurry to get the next WWE game, most especially if delaying its release would lead to a cleaner, less buggy product. Take all the time you need, Take-Two Interactive.

In the meantime, we'll be enjoying the return of CM Punk to pro wrestling.
