Former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE icon Brock Lesnar is back in the Octagon, at least in virtual form.

Lesnar has been added to the roster of fighters for the UFC 4 video game, increasing speculation he might still be nearing a return to the organization.

The former heavyweight champion, who boasts a four-star rating on the game, had not appeared in a UFC video game since the inaugural EA Sports UFC game in 2014. Prior to this, Lesnar was a playable fighter in UFC 2009 Undisputed and UFC Undisputed 3 while also serving as the cover athlete for UFC Undisputed 2010.

Brock Lesnar made his name in the wrestling world as a national champion at the University of Minnesota in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He would subsequently make the jump to WWE, becoming an instant star and racking up plenty of accolades.

But Lesnar looked to expand his athletic horizons when he joined the UFC in 2008. Lesnar lost his heavyweight debut against veteran Frank Mir after Mir secured a kneebar.

Lesnar would get in the win column with a victory over Heath Herring and immediately earned a title shot against the legendary Randy Couture, winning the belt via TKO. He then defended the belt in a rematch against Mir at UFC 100 in 2009.

But Brock Lesnar's history with the UFC has been sketchy ever since. Lesnar defended his belt a second time against Shane Carwin, but was defeated by Cain Velasquez in his next title fight. He then suffered a second straight loss to Alistair Overeem, subsequently retiring from MMA.

Lesnar would return to fight on UFC 200 in a win over Mark Hunt, but he was popped for steroids and suspended thereafter. The dominant wrestler has not been in the UFC since.

There was speculation Lesnar would fight former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, but Cormier has since lost the belt.

Still, is Brock Lesnar's addition to this video game an indication he might be returning to the Octagon? Time will tell.
