WrestleMania 38 Day 2 started off with a final goodbye from WWE Hall of Famer Triple H, the Cerebral Assassin, The Game.

Triple H has had an illustrious career in WWE, and his in-ring performing days see their end today. Following news that his heart condition that led to surgery in late 2021 would prevent him from ever competing again, Triple H announced the end of his wrestling days.

Thus, WWE gave Triple H a fitting stage for him to make his final in-ring appearance. WrestleMania 38 Day 2 started with Triple H’s theme hitting the arena. Triple H then made his way to the arena to address the WWE Universe. One final apron shower later, Triple H gave a final farewell that, along with The Undertaker’s Hall of Fame speech earlier this weekend, signified an end of an era.

Triple H welcomed everyone in attendance to WrestleMania, and as the cameras panned to the WrestleMania logo at the entrance ramp, the pyros set off. But as soon as the camera panned back to the Ring, The Game was no longer there. He left his boots at the center of the ring, with the mic laid in front of it. This was it – the final cap to Triple H’s illustrious career.

WrestleMania 38 came 26 years after his first WrestleMania appearance, and it’s a great way to cap any wrestling career. Triple H finally hangs his boots at WrestleMania 38.

Triple H’s goodbye feels a lot more final than other WWE Legends’ in-ring retirements, as former WWE Stars would usually come back every now and then to participate in WWE programming and matches. But Triple H’s heart condition clearly makes it impossible for him to ever make a comeback. So, the Triple H retirement tribute at the start of WrestleMania 38 Day 2 felt a lot more emotional, as we’re really sure that this is among the last times we’ll ever see Triple H in the ring.
