On Monday's episode of WWE Raw, budding heel group Judgment Day gained, and then immediately lost, a member.

Judgment Day is one of the more recent examples of a spooky-flavored faction in wrestling that was formed by Edge, a Superstar unafraid to tap into his Brood-roots. Complete with a black and purple color scheme and cultish-themed promo work, Damian Priest joined at the end of Edge’s match with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38, a match Edge won after Priest’s distraction, with Rhea Ripley joining at WrestleMania Backlash via an interference as Edge faced off against Styles.

Considering Styles was always outnumbered in his bouts against “The Rated R Superstar,” he was soon joined by Finn Balor and Liv Morgan (who was Ripley’s ex-tag partner), forming a pseudo-Bullet Club. Thus, the stage was set for a 3-on-3 match at Hell in a Cell, a match which was won by Judgment Day, with Edge spearing and pinning Balor, again with the help of Rhea Ripley’s interference.

So, with the momentum of a PPV victory, why not expand the group? And who better than the very person who was pinned by Edge, who witnessed the power of Judgment Day firsthand? Well, that’s exactly what Edge and company planned to do on the following episode of Raw.

…until it wasn’t.

Before the WWE Universe was even able to process Finn Balor turning his back on his “Too Sweet” reunion, Damian Priest declared that Edge was the one holding them back, and the group turned on their founder.

A beating ensured, complete with a chair leg crossface from Balor and a con-chairto from Priest.

This shift in Judgment Day proved to be an effective swerve. Will this lead to Edge turning face once more? How will Styles and Morgan react to this change? These questions should be answered in the coming weeks.
