WWE superstar John Cena is not stopping his passive beef with soon-to-be AEW talent CM Punk. On a recent edition of Smackdown, Vince McMahon’s favorite jean-wearing talent took some shots at Roman Reigns, but used verbiage that more than inferred he was actually taking a slight dig at the failed MMA fighter.

“Roman, you’re gonna put on a hell of a show, but I’m just gonna hang in there for 1, 2, 3,” John Cena said. “And then I’m gonna take your title, jump the barricade and run out of Allegiant Stadium as fast as I can. I may even blow you a kiss goodbye.”

Those are clear references to the time CM Punk defeated the WWE talent at the 2011 Money In The Bank PPV. Nonetheless, they are honestly all harmless little Easter Egg like references.

Anyway, after all of this resulted in some buzz from fans on social media, as well as a tepid response by Punk on his Instagram Stories, Cena took to his Instagram to be slightly less subtle with his trolling.

Well, I mean, that is certainly an image of CM Punk.

Punk is rumored to debut for AEW on the next edition of Rampage. In a weird way — maybe even on purpose! — all this polite trolling by the WWE star is only helping to add to the buzz of CM Punk showing up to AEW for the first time.
