After weeks of anticipation, Mercedes Varnado, the artist formerly known as Sasha Banks, has announced her first big move outside of the WWE… sort of.

That's right, though she hasn't officially been released from the company in a public way and has reportedly sought out a lawyer to get out of her contract in order to pursue other ventures, Varnado has officially booked an appearance at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. (C2E2) in, you guessed it, Chicago, where she will be signing autographs and taking pictures with her fans.

Huh, an equal billing for her work as Sasha Banks, the most recent WWE Women's Tag Team Championship holder, and he role as Koska Reeves on Disney+ The Mandolorian? That's certainly interesting.

Now, in addition entertainment personalities likes of Billy Dee Williams, Barry Gordon, and Svengoolie, there are other wrestlers booked for the event, including Trish Stratus, Mick Foley, and Lita, so it's not like Varnado's addition to the event is particularly unprecedented, but considering the sheer volume of Star Wars personalities booked for the event, it feels like an untapped market may be available to the 30-year-old California native outside of the squared circle.

Like oh so many other wrestlers before her – some successful, some not – could Varnado's future not be in AEW but instead on the silver screen, where she will one day break down the “Sasha Banks character” before her role in a DC movie like the following clip featuring John Cena?

*sigh* if only the WWE didn't own the name Sasha Banks, now that would have been cool. Oh well, if fans don't know the name Mercedes Varnado, it's clear they will soon, as it doesn't appear she's going away.
