With Money in the Bank officially in the books, fans across the WWE Universe have one question and one question alone coming out of the Premium Live Event: Who was the mystery man in the cryptic and spooky video package?

Okay, technically that isn't correct; fans want to know what's next for Liv Morgan now that she's the SmackDown women's champion, what's next for Ronda Rousey who isn't, and why on earth Theory not only made it into the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match but actually pulled out the win over the likes of Riddle, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins.

But still, on a card with very little fat around the edges, it was a curious decision to have a single video segment promoting a surprise debut, return, or repackaging in the middle of an otherwise tight show. Who could it be and when will it pay off? Let's attempt to find out.

Breaking down WWE's mystery video package.

WWE's Money in the Bank has featured a cryptic video teaser package, and it probably isn't for who you'd initially think.

just in case you decided to use the bathroom before the Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya match, the video featured some standard spooky music, jumpy editing, and plenty of imagery centered around light bulbs, religious iconography, and a Texas license plate that read “Latino Heat,” and the color red.

Now, minus maybe the license plate, this sort of video package screams the return of “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. Could it be that Wyatt and WWE have finally settled their differences and he's making a triumphant return to the Federation, only this time more cultish and Fiend-ish than ever?

Well, another clue was pretty present in the video: A gold medal.

Is that supposed to be an Olympic gold medal? Well, Kurt Angle has made it pretty clear that he is not returning to the ring ever again, so it must be Gable Steveson!

So, does that mean we're getting a spooky cult leader version of the early 20's collegiate wrestler? While it was clear that his in-ring persona wasn't exactly there during his Wrestlemania appearance, and a gimmick or angle for his official WWE arrival isn't the worst idea, making Steveson, a well-known collegiate wrestler, into a spooky character right from the jump feels like a terrible idea, especially when most people who watched the video live are probably now anticipating more Bray Wyatt shenanigans, though it's up to them as to whether they are waiting with excitement or dread.

Well, thankfully, more observant, and more pause-button savvy, Twitter users managed to catch more clues. That license plate wasn't the only reference to the past, as wrestling tag teams like the Hardys and Dudleys were referenced as well.

Therefore, unless Steveson just really likes those superstars and wants to tribute them while being a spooky cult leader, the best guess has to be none other than Edge, who notably faced off against all of them in the past.

That's right, after being betrayed by the slightly spooky Judgement Day, Edge has now gone full spooky in retaliation, and while it still feels like a strange choice, it makes far more sense than Steveson. At least all of the crosses in the video could just be a reference to Christian.

It would appear that only time will tell how and when Edge -or whoever the video is actually referencing – will return.
