Sheamus and Drew McIntyre have wrestled about a dozen times since joining the WWE Universe.

… actually, that isn't correct. No, the duo have wrestled dozens of times, plural, with 74 recorded contests as either friends or foes, according to the fine folks over at Cagematch. They've wrestled in teams, wrestled solo, and even taken part in multi-man events like Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble, and even the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal from WrestleMania XXX back in 2014. They've had Street Fights, No Holds Barred matches, and even a No Disqualifications match, a match that, fittingly, ended in a no contest ruling.

So, as Sheamus continues to avoid McIntyre's pursuit of a match to decide on who will earn a title shot at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event broadcast live from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales in September, it only became a matter of time before the former member of 3 Man Band decided to let his sword do the talking.

This, understandably, is a problem for Sheamus, as his cane is no match for a massive piece of forged steel, but fortunately, the Brawling Brute found a creative solution to his problems: Create a new stipulation match that evens the playing field ever so slightly.

A shillelagh match, you say? What even is that? Wikipedia, what do you have?

“A shillelagh is a wooden walking stick and club or cudgel, typically made from a stout knotty blackthorn stick with a large knob at the top. It is associated with Ireland and Irish folklore.”

In layman's terms? The duo are going to hit each other with canes in a No Holds Barred match, and you'd best believe it's going to be must-see TV, even if McIntyre's sword is understandably barred from ringside.
