Washington Redskins pro-bowl left tackle Trent Williams suffered a rib injury on Thursday's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams was forced to stick around Dallas for X-rays overnight to see the damage.

Williams has a lot to be thankful for right after Thanksgiving with the news that his damage is not as severe as it seemed. The Redskins have until Monday for Williams to rest up as he will most likely be very sore from the rib injury.

Williams is undoubtedly the glue that keeps the Redskins offensive line together as he is one of the best offensive linemen in the league for that matter.

The recent rib injury is not Williams' first of the season; he missed three previous games with a dislocated thumb.

Williams was taken to the hospital following the matchup against Dallas for precautionary reasons. However, it's worth monitoring. The Redskins will need all the help they can get now with all of the injuries on the team. Including to starting quarterback Alex Smith who's done for the year with a gruesome leg injury. Washington will face off against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles next week on Monday night on the road.

If the Redskins hope to keep their playoff hopes alive, Williams will need to be out on the field to take pressure off of backup quarterback Colt McCoy and veteran running back Adrian Peterson. With the NFC East being wide open regarding playoff chances, the Redskins will need to finish the season on a strong note from here on out. And it starts with having their starting left tackle out there.
