It's unclear if Johnny Manziel is going to play in the XFL,  but if he does there is a chance it will be with the Houston franchise.

June Jones who will be the XFL Houston coach, and coached Manziel for a few weeks with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats claims he enjoyed his time with him and seems to hint that he would like to have him on the Houston squad.

“I had Johnny in Hamilton,” Jones, who was named XFL Houston coach last week, recently said, via CBSSports.com. “I enjoyed the five or six weeks [with him]. . . . He played very good for me, actually. Johnny is an interesting guy. He’s competitive. He’s proven that he has won. He’s just been through a lot in the last three or four years. That’s kind of a league decision there, but definitely I assume that he’ll be in the draft pool. I assume that.”

Jones started his CFL career with Jones as his head coach but he couldn't beat out Jeremiah Masoli for a job so the team eventually traded him to Montreal.

It's unclear if the XFL is going to take Manziel, or if Manziel even wants to play in the league but with the NFL all but ruling him out the former Texas A&M star doesn't have many options left if he still wants to play football.

If he decides he wants to play in the league and the XFL agrees Manziel will probably be in the draft pool which means Houston will have a chance to take him and maybe he will finally get his football career back on track.
