Vince McMahon filed for bankruptcy with the XFL, but some believe he could be trying to buy back his own league. Via Daniel Kaplan of TheAthletic.com, XFL creditors feel that McMahon could be setting himself to make an offer to buy the league out of bankruptcy.

There are a few clues that point towards McMahon positioning to get the league back and maybe even start it up again for next season.  XFL president Jeffrey Pollack has contacted stadiums in St. Louis and Seattle about restarting their lease. Part of the bankruptcy also includes trying to paying $3.5 million back to season ticket holders. XFL backers believe that could be a move by McMahon to get back the league at a dirt-cheap price.

By filing bankruptcy and buying it back, it would allow McMahon to still have the league, but not be on the hook for a lot of the dept that was staring him right in the pace when the coronavirus pandemic hit.

If Vince McMahon does get the league back there are a couple of big questions. Did the business fail because of the pandemic, or was it on a path to failing even without the coronavirus? If it was bound to fail, what has McMahon learned that he will change to make it succeed?

There is also the question about who will want to come back to work for McMahon. Many in the front office of the XFL were blindsided when he shuttered the doors. Would they be willing to come back to work for him?
