The New York Yankees are dominating the American League East after starting the season 37-15. Despite the stunning start to the season, things aren't as perfect as they seem. Following the Yankees' dominating 13-0 win over the Detroit Tigers, Miguel Andujar asked Aaron Boone for a trade.

MLB insider Hector Gomez tweeted the news Saturday afternoon.

This request likely came after the Yankees optioned Andujar to their Triple-A affiliate team, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Before the team announced this decision, Andujar recorded one hit and one run in the Friday night win.

This isn't the first time that the organization decided to pluck Andujar from the Yankees roster and move him to the Triple-A level. He's only played in 12 of the Yankees' 52 games to start the season. The 27-year-old has played 26 games for the RailRiders, recording 13 runs, and 28 hits, including four home runs and ten RBIs.

During his minimal time on New York's roster, Andujar recorded a .268 batting average, four runs, and 11 hits, three being RBIs.

Many other outfielders have picked up more playing time as a result of Andujar's frequent trips to Triple-A, including Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo. Hicks has played in 44 games for the Yankees, while Gallo has 43 under his belt.

Despite the outfield drama, the Yankees will attempt to continue their early-season success with a win over the Tigers Saturday afternoon.
