The New York Yankees have reportedly been in contact with Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman and his agent.

Freddie Freeman is one of the best left-handed hitters in the game and arguably the best first baseman in baseball. He's coming off a World Series in which he won the first of his career.

It would seem more likely that Freeman will sign back with the Braves as he spent his whole entire career there and just walked away with a championship. It could make sense for the Yankees to go after him because they are looking to make big waves this offseason. If the Yankees can save some money and trade for Matt Olson instead, that would be the more likely thing to do as they will still have money left over to sign other players.

The Yankees are rumored to be looking at all three Short Stops including Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Carlos Correa. New York also needs to add some pitching and they're going to potentially add the likes of Robbie Ray and Kevin Gausman.

They have a lot of money to spend and Brian Cashman has already come out and said that the Yankees are going to spend like the Yankees used to. They desperately need another left-handed bat and adding one of the better left-handed hitters in baseball will certainly help this Yankees offense. It will be any day now until the Yankees make a move and it's going to be interesting to see what moves they make.
