Luke Walton will bring some Golden State Warriors flavor to the Los Angeles Lakers, and Yi Jianlian is excited about the potential of his new opportunity.

A former lottery pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2007, Yi is looking forward to embed his skill-set in the new Lakers system.

Speaking to reporters, the Chinese center talked about his prospects with the team.

“In the summertime I had been talking to Coach Luke. He and I talked a lot about the system. I think I can really fit on the team and in the system.”

“I think I still can shoot the 3’s, space the floor. But I’m cool with playing four or five.”

He'll be met with stiff competition for frontline minutes, but that won't stop him from working on his craft.

His ability to shoot the ball will be very vital if he is to secure himself a spot in Walton’s rotation. Yi never met his full potential during his initial stint in the NBA, but in front of him right now is an excellent opportunity to carve his niche in the league as he grows with the young Lakers.
