Zach LaVine entered the NBA back in 2014 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since then, the high-flyer has won two Slam Dunk Contests and made $48,647,298 through NBA contracts, per Spotrac.

After drafting LaVine with the 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft out of UCLA, the Timberwolves signed the Washington native to a two-year, $4.2 million rookie contract. LaVine averaged 10.1 points and 3.6 assists during his rookie season while making $2,055,840.

In his second season, Zach LaVine increased his scoring average to 14.0 points per game while earning $2,148,360. It was a no brainer for the Timberwolves to exercise their third-year option on LaVine worth $2,240,880. Zach averaged 18.9 points while shooting an efficient 45.9 percent from the field in his third season. It looked like he was well on his way to making an All-Star team and signing a lucrative rookie-scale extension with Minnesota.

Unfortunately, LaVine tore his ACL during the 2016-17 campaign. The Timberwolves then traded him to the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler on draft night in 2017.

It made no sense for the Bulls to sign LaVine to an extension, so Chicago paid Zach $3,202,218 during the 2017-18 season when he played in only 24 games after recovering from his ACL injury. LaVine averaged 16.7 points per contest.

In the summer of 2018, Zach LaVine became a restricted free agent after the Bulls offered him his $4.3 million qualifying offer. The former UCLA Bruin then signed an offer sheet with the Sacramento Kings, putting the pressure on the Bulls. If Chicago didn't match the offer sheet within 48 hours, LaVine would be a Sacramento King.

However, the Bulls pretty much had no choice but to match the contract since LaVine was the cornerstone player the franchise acquired in the Jimmy Butler deal. Chicago matched the Kings' offer for Zach, which was a four-year contract worth $78 million. LaVine made $19,500,000 in 2018-19 and averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19, Zach LaVine was scheduled to make $19,500,000 again. He was averaging 25.5 points per game for the Bulls.

LaVine will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2022 unless the Bulls sign him to an extension before then. After his current contract ends with Chicago, LaVine will have made $87,647,298 through NBA contracts.
