Former Golden State Warriors center Zaza Pachulia got a quick jab in to his former teammate Kevin Durant, making note of another former Warriors player, as Omri Casspi of the Memphis Grizzlies went off for 20 points off the bench on Monday.

Word didn't take long to get around the NBA, using the narrative of Casspi's “revenge game” — getting the most minutes on the floor since his first game of the season and also putting up a season-high with an effective 8-of-10 from the field.

Casspi had his season cut short last season after his injury woes knocked him out of the rotation and subsequently into waivers, as Golden State needed to free a roster spot to turn Quinn Cook's two-way deal into a full-fledged NBA contract.

The Israeli forward was the sacrificial lamb back then, given he was already removed from Steve Kerr's everyday rotation and the Warriors were thin at the point guard position, needing Cook to step in while Stephen Curry dealt with a long-term injury that would keep him out until the second round of the playoffs.

Much like Golden State did with Jonas Jerebko against the Utah Jazz in the second game of the season, the Grizzlies gave Casspi plenty of run and allowed him to take shots with ample freedom — a gamble that worked out, as he kept Memphis alive through stretches of the game.
