23XI driver Tyler Reddick won his first NASCAR Cup Series victory of the 2024 season on Sunday after an eventful race in Talladega. As a result, co-owner of 23XI and former NBA superstar Michael Jordan was elated at his Reddick's success. Moreover, Jordan's old basketball rival Magic Johnson gave him flowers after the win.

Magic Johnson offered Jordan high praise after his team achieved another NASCAR Cup Series title.

Congratulations to my good friend and 23XI Racing team co-owner, Michael Jordan, on his NASCAR Cup series win yesterday at Talladega! I'm happy he was finally there to see his team win in person, too.” Johnson posted on X followed by a praise emoji.

“MJ is one of four Black NASCAR team owners out there. Already a 6x NBA champion, he's now a 6x NASCAR Cup Series winner! I love seeing him continue his winning legacy on the NASCAR track,” Johnson added with a trophy emoji.

Michael Jordan and co-owner Denny Hamlin's team has been impressive, and Tyler Reddick's Talladega win lived up to the hype. Reddick won when the previous race leader, Michael McDowell, crashed after blocking Brad Keselowski as they came to the checked flag, per insight from NBC Sports.

The collision triggered a multi-car incident which Reddick happened to be on the fortunate end of. Reddick's victory was the sixth of his career. Moreover, he became the eighth consecutive different winner at Talladega.

Brad Keselowski finished second after being winless in his last 107 races. Keselowski finished second place for the second time in a row. Noah Gragson finished a career-best third, while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came through at fourth. Alex Bowman rounded out the top five.

Michael Jordan was just as happy as Magic Johnson to see his team succeed after Sunday's race.

Michael Jordan is stoked for his team's NASCAR win

Jordan could not help but be excited after seeing his team win in person.

“Denny [Hamlin] keeps saying I was bad luck when I come to the track and today, we proved him wrong,” Jordan told Fox Sports after the race. “I think Tyler [Reddick] did a good job. Unfortunately, Bubba [Wallace] couldn't finish but the whole team did a good job.”

“Look, I'm very happy to see it. Everybody tells me when we win, we have a big celebration, but this is the first time I've been here. To my wife and kids and everybody, ‘Yeah we did it. Sorry, I left you home,'” Jordan added.

Jordan's presence seemed to be a catalyst that helped lead the team to a successful showing. Perhaps they will achieve more if Jordan continues to show up.

All in all, Tyler Reddick beat the odds for an impressive showing on Sunday. FanDuel had Reddick's odds of winning the race at +2000. Ironically, 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin was favored to win at +1000 alongside William Byron, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and Brad Keselowski.

It will be interesting to see how Michael Jordan's team continues to do after a stellar performance.
