The Green Bay Packers had a really strong 2019 season, finishing with a 13-3 record.

While they did not win the Super Bowl, they still managed to win a postseason game. A loss in the NFC Championship Game was disappointing, but overall there wasn't much to complain about during the season.

That's especially true considering the offense. Once again, the Packers didn't really give superstar Aaron Rodgers a lot to work with when it came to weapons.

However, Rodgers also had far from his best year in the NFL. The quarterback completed 62% of his passes for 4,002 yards. Both were his lowest totals in a full season since 2015.

Although he threw just four interceptions, 26 touchdown passes weren't exactly lights out either. With that in mind, Rodgers will be looking to improve heading into 2020.

Here are two goals for the Packers QB this offseason.

Create A Rapport With Jace Sternberger

As I've mentioned, Rodgers doesn't exactly have an all-star cast of weapons. Davante Adams is a superstar wide receiver, one of the best in the game, that's about it though. Jimmy Graham is still pretty solid at tight end, but he's not nearly the star he once was.

Speaking of tight ends though, the Packers just drafted one in 2019. They selected Jace Sternberger in the third round.

Now, in 2019 he didn't do much of anything. He appeared in six regular season games, collecting zero receptions on one target. Sternberger did however pick up reception number one in Green Bay's first playoff game, against the Seattle Seahawks (a two-yard reception).

Then against the San Francisco 49ers he reeled in two catches for 13 yards, including a touchdown.

So it looks like there might be something there. And Rodgers would love to have a shiny new toy, especially at tight end.

That should be a focus this year. If the Packers bring in some stars for him, great. However, plan for if they don't and help create a new star that's already on the roster.

Sternberger has tons of potential. Help mold that. And in doing so, you're helping yourself.

Stay Healthy

This one is simple. Rodgers is no rising star anymore. He's 36 years old now.

There could still be quite a few years left in the quarterback. However, he could also start hitting that decline pretty heavy at any moment. So he should prepare to stop that from happening.

And what's the quickest way to decline? Injuries getting in the way. It's more important now than ever before for Rodgers to stay healthy. That means making sure he's in the best shape of his life.

The good news is, Rodgers is an ultra-competitor. I'm sure he already understands the situation and is doing everything to whoop Father Time and keep his playing days going.

A few more years for Rodgers could end up equaling out to another Super Bowl for the Packers. So the longer he's around, the better.
