The Los Angeles Angels hit the road as they visit the Cleveland Guardians. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with an Angels-Guardians prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

The Angels come into the series sitting at 11-20 on the year, in fourth place in the AL West. They are also coming in off a nine-game home stand in which they won just twice. In their last series, they lost two of three to the Phillies. Meanwhile, the Guardians will be finishing a six-game road trip on Thursday. They have currently split the series with the Astros and will be playing game three of the series on Thursday night. Regardless of the outcome, the Guardians will head into this series in first place in the AL Central.

Why The Angles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Angels sit 17th in the majors in runs scored this year while sitting 13th in batting average, 17th in on-base percentage, and 15th in slugging. The Angels will be without their star, Mike Trout. Trout was hitting .220 with ten home runs and 14 RVBIs before a knee injury that will require surgery. Taylor Ward leads the way in RBIs this year. He comes in hitting .278 on the year with six doubles and seven home runs. This has led to 19 runs scored, and 23 RBIs on the season. Meanwhile, Zach Neto is hitting .238 on the year. He has 11 RBIs this year, with the help of eight douvels and two home runs. Neto has also swiped four bags while scoring eight times this year.

In the last week, Jo Adell has been great. He is hitting .250 in the last six games, with two doubles and two home runs. He has five RBIs and three runs scored as well. Luis Rengifo is also having a good week. In his last six gamers, he has hit .450 with a .522 on-base percentage. He has a double and two home runs, scoring five times and driving in five runs.

Angels pitching is 28th in the majors in team ERA while sitting 25th in WHIP and 21st in opponent batting average. Jose Soriano is expected to be on the mound in this one for the Angels. He is 0-4 this year with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP.  Last time out, he gave up four runs in just 1.2 innings of work. Members of the Guardians have just two career at-bats against Soriano, with one hit and a walk.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians are seventh this year in runs scored while sitting tenth in batting average, ninth in on-base percentage, and tenth in slugging. Steven Kwan leads the way this year. He is hitting .360 on the year with a .403 on-base percentage. He has six doubles, two triples, and three home runs on the season. This has led to 11 RBIs on the year. Further, Kwan has stolen three bases and scored 27 times this year. Meanwhile, Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez lead the way in RBIs. Naylor is hitting .269 on the year with a .347 on-base percentage. He has seven doubles and seven home runs, leading to his 24 RBIs. He has 15 runs scored as well.

Ramirez is hitting .244 on the year with a .282 on-base percentage. He has five doubles and five home runs, leading to his 24 RBIs. Ramirez has stolen four bases and sc scored 19 times this year. Joining Naylor and Ramirez in producing is Andres Giminez. He is hitting .282 on the year with a .357 on-base percentage. He has five doubles, and a home run, with 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

The pitching staff is sixth in team ERA, tenth in WHIP, and 11th in opponent batting average. It will be Tanner Bibee on the mound for the Guardians. He is 2-0 with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. The Guardians have won each of the last five times he has started. Bibbee has given up just three runs in his last 17.2 innings of work as well.

Not only are the Guardians the better team in this one, they have a much better pitcher going. Since having trouble against the White Sox on April tenth, Tanner Bibee has been dominated. He has 20 strikeouts in his last 17.2 innings of work. Further, he has given up just 12 hits, and four walks, having a WHIP below 1.00.
