The Boston Celtics were considered one of the teams that overachieved last season as they were able to end up with a winning record and even made it to the playoffs without an established star.

As it turned out, Isaiah Thomas emerged as an All-Star for them which helped the team win a total of 48 games in the campaign. It's also not surprising that other players would like their teams to achieve what the C's have done last year.

As far back as September, during the team's media day, New Orleans Pelicans‘ forward Anthony Davis has talked about wanting his team to be like the 2015-2016 Celtics.

“We want to be kind of like how Boston was last year: not having a lot of talent, but them guys play hard. That's how they were able to win games. That's what we want.”

New Orleans is off to a dismal start to the season as they are currently on a 2-9 record despite incredible performances from Davis. Outside of him, the team has not been able to get decent contribution from their bench and has struggled to find a consistent second option.

The difference lies on how much effort the Bean Town team gave out during their games last year. Boston was one of the teams that showed a lot of hustle especially on the defensive end. Their players also understood their roles and gave what was expected of them.

If the Pelicans can replicate what the Celtics did last season, it won't be impossible for them to string some wins together and even give them a chance to compete for a playoff spot as the campaign progresses.
