The Clippers were already without star forward Blake Griffin (sore knee) and guard Raymond Felton (personal), so this latest injury bug isn't coming at a good time. In tonight's game between the Clippers and Pelicans, Austin Rivers received an inadvertant elbow to the head on a euro-step move by Pelicans forward Terrence Jones.

Rivers stayed down on the ground for a couple seconds, got up with the help of his teammates, and headed towards the bench. Rivers was visibly shaken, but seemed to be alright after a couple minutes on the bench. Upon checking back into the game, however, Rivers grabbed his head when the noise level in the arena increased.

“That blow [earlier in the game] obviously had a delayed effect. he passed all the tests on the bnech, then right when he went on the floor, you knew something was wrong. I saw him grab his head becaues of the noise [in the arena], you knew something was going on. We got him out quick.”

Soon after the game, the Clippers said Rivers' injury was being called a mild concussion.

Luckily for the L.A., the team is expecting Raymond Felton to be back with the team in time for Monday's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.
