Finding words to describe Russell Westbrook's historic season has been a challenge at times.

Sometimes fewer words is the way to go.

After the Thunder's critical 115-113 win in Game 3 over the Houston Rockets Friday night, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan had this to say about his MVP candidate.

Via Yahoo! Sports:

“He’s a man’s man,” Donovan told The Vertical about Westbrook on Friday night. “He’s never passive-aggressive. He’s never trying to give some underlying message.”

The straightforward nature of Westbrook is one of his defining characteristics. This Thunder team has embodied the personality of its leader, falling in line behind him and taking after his lead.

Donovan's words also echo the personality of Russ with the media. He doesn't like to play those games and tries to give very simple answers usually that won't make headlines. It can be frustrating for the media but refreshing for coaches and players.

Donovan knows what he will get from Russ every night when it comes to competing relentlessly for 48 minutes. That has allowed Westbrook to average a triple-double for the first time in 55 years and it has the Thunder back in position to compete in this series against the Rockets.

The Thunder will need more of the same and Westbrook's best to get by Houston and advance any further.
