The Portland Trail Blazers made a few tough calls on Saturday as they rounded out their roster for the season tip-off. This includes their decision to remove a former teammate of LeBron James and Stephen Curry from the roster.

According to a report posted on NBA.com, Quinn Cook has lost out his roster spot for the Blazers after signing with the team for training camp. Aside from Cook, Portland has also cut ties with another former player of the Golden State Warriors in Marquese Chriss. Veteran big man Patrick Patterson has also been cut from the roster.

As for Cook, the 28-year-old point guard played alongside LeBron with the Los Angeles Lakers for two seasons. Cook was part of LA's championship-winning side in the Orlando bubble. He re-signed with the Lakers to start the 2020-21 campaign, but he ended up being cut by February. The former Duke standout then signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played seven games last season.

Prior to his stint with the Lakers, Quinn Cook also suited up for the Warriors as Stephen Curry's backup. His title with LeBron and the Lakers was the second of his career after also winning a chip with the Dubs in 2018.

For their part, the Blazers currently have 14 players on their roster ahead of the new season. They also still have a couple of two-way players on the squad as Damian Lillard and Co. look to make some noise in 2021-22.
