It's a potential National League Championship Preview as the Atlanta Braves begin a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Braves-Dodgers prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Braves are coming off a series where they lost two of three to the Seattle Mariners, barely salvaging something with a win in the final game. Unfortunately, the offense went cold, with just three combined runs over the first two games before getting five in the finale. Atlanta is 6-4 over the past 10 games. Now, they are ready for a big showdown with the Dodgers.

The Dodgers took two of three from the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix. Overall, they are 8-2 over the past 10 games. Los Angeles is also dominating the National League West with a 20-13 record, which is second in the entire league behind the Dodgers. Substantially, they are enjoying a really good stretch.

Charlie Morton starts in this opener for the Braves. He is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA. Amazingly, he tossed seven shutout innings while allowing just four hits and striking out six in a no-decision in his last outing against the Cleveland Guardians. Morton has had two straight-quality starts. However, he is just 1-4 with a 5.70 ERA in seven games against the Dodgers in his career.

Gavin Stone starts for the Dodgers. He is 2-1 with a 4.68 ERA. Recently, he tossed seven innings while allowing one earned run on two hits in a win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Stone has had quality starts in two of his last three outings.

The Braves won the season series 4-3 last season. Yet, the Dodgers have won the season series in the previous two campaigns and are a combined 11-7 over the past 18 games against the Braves.

Why The Braves Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Braves once again have one of the best offenses in the league. Significantly, they are second in batting average, third in on-base percentage, fourth in runs, and third in slugging percentage. But they are only 20th in home runs, indicating a decline in power.

R0nald Acuna Jr. leads the Braves. Significantly, he is batting .252 with one home run, six RBIs, 29 runs, and 13 stolen bases. Acuna is third in the league in runs and continues to find ways to get on base and score. Meanwhile, Ozzie Albies is batting .330 with two home runs, 18 RBIs, and 17 runs.

Austin Riley is struggling. So far, he is hitting .235 with two home runs, 16 RBIs, and 17 runs. Matt Olson is also struggling. Ultimately, he is batting .206 with three home runs, 16 RBIs, and 15 runs. But Marcell Ozuna has been amazing. Substantially, he has continued to produce with a batting average of .321 with nine home runs, 32 RBIs, and 20 runs.

The Braves are solid on the mound. Currently, they rank ninth in team ERA and sixth in walks plus hits per nine innings pitched. Morton hopes to pitch well and then turn it over to the bullpen.

The Braves will cover the spread if the offense can get to Stone early. Then, they need to avoid making mistakes against this hot lineup.

Why The Dodgers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Dodgers have the best offense in baseball. So far, they are first in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and runs. Los Angeles is also fourth in home runs.

Mookie Betts has been exceptional, leading the majors with a batting average of .377 and 29 runs. Additionally, he also has six home runs and 25 RBIs. Freddie Freeman has also been good. So far, he is batting .292 with two home runs, 19 RBIs, and 16 runs.

Shohei Ohtani has been great with his new team. So far, he is batting .336 with seven home runs, 19 RBIs, and 25 runs. Look for Othani to continue to find ways to pound the baseball. Meanwhile, Will Smith is third in batting average. Smith has a mark of .355 with four home runs, 24 RBIs, and 18 runs.

The Dodgers are good on the mound. At the moment, they are 10th in team ERA and rank eighth in walks plus hits per innings pitched. But they need Stone to produce.

The Dodgers will cover the spread if they can get to Morton and prevent him from getting into a groove. Then, they need to take command of this game on the mound.

Final Braves-Dodgers Prediction & Pick

Morton has turned back the clock and is having an amazing season. However, it's difficult to ignore his horrible numbers against the Dodgers. It's also tough to forget about the bad start that Stone has had. While both teams are solid pitching staffs, they also are the top two offenses in the league. Look for the hitters to come alive on Friday night at Chavez Ravine. The Braves and Dodgers both score a lot of runs. The Over hits.
