The Nashville Predators look to force a game seven as they face the Vancouver Canucks. It is time to continue our NHL odds series with a Canucks-Predators Game 6 prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

The Predators found themselves in trouble in the series in game five. They split the first two games on the road but lost back-to-back games at home to be on the brink of elimination. The game was in Vancouver. Juuse Saros and Arturs Silvos kept the game scoreless for the first two periods. In the third, Nikita Zadorov scored on a goal assisted by Quinn Hughes to make it 1-0 for the Canucks. The Predators would tie it up on a Roman Josi goal though, and then would take the lead on a goal by Alexandre Carrier. They would hold onto the lead, winning 2-1 and forcing a game six.

Why The Cancuks Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Canucks were sixth in the NHL in goals per game, coming into the playoffs with 3.40 goals per game. JT Miller has been solid in the playoffs. He has a goal and five assists, good for six points. Miller led the team with 103 points during the regular season. He had 37 goals and 66 assists, plus ten goals and 40 assists on the power play. Meanwhile, Brock Boeser has four goals and an assist in the playoffs. Boeser had 33 assists in the regular season with 40 goals.

Quinn Hughes has added five assists so far this playoff season. He had 75 of those in the regular season, with 17 goals. Still, Elias Pettersson has not done much yet in the playoffs. He has two assists and no goals. Pettersson had 34 goals and 55 assists during the regular season. He also had 13 goals and 18 assists on the power play.

Arturs Silovs stayed in goal for game five of the series. He saved 20 of 22 shots, good for a .909 save percentage, but took the loss. In his first start of the series, he allowed three goals on 30 shots but got the win. Silovs has played in just nine career games now and could be back in the net. If not, it will be the return of Casey DeSmith. DeSmith played in just games two and three of the series after the injury to Thatcher Demko. He has been solid, with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in his two games.

Why The Predators Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Predators sat tenth in the NHL on the season in goals per game, coming into the playoffs with 3.24 goals per game.  Filip Forsberg led the team in points, having 48 goals and 46 assists in the regular season. He has two goals and four assists so far in the series, but no goals on the power play, but having two power-play assists. The power play is where he had 13 goals and 19 assists in the regular season. Roman Josi has three points in the series, with a goal and two assists. He had 62 assists in the regular season while also scoring 23 times.

Gustav Nyquist has four points in the series so far, with a goal and three assists. He had 23 goals and 52 assists during the regular season, with five goals and 19 assists on the power play. Meanwhile, in-season acquisition Jason Zucker has been solid. He has a goal and two assists in the playoffs so far.

Jusse Saros is expected to be back in goal for this one. Saros was 35-24-5 in the regular season. He had a 2.86 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in those games. Saros put up a solid game in game five of the series. He stopped 19 of 20 shots, taking the win.  It was the second time in the series he was over .940 in save percentage and the second win of the series for him.

Final Canucks-Predators Prediction & Pick

This game may come down to Juuse Saros. He has three games this series at .850 or worse in save percentage. Saros and the Predators lost all three of those games. He also has two games over .940 in save percentage, both of those coming in wins. The Canucks are still without their top goaltender and could be without the backup again. Still, even with Casey DeSmith in, the level of goaltending drops off. The Predators will get their first win of the series at home in this one and force a game seven.
