Even if the Boston Celtics pass their first-round test against the Milwaukee Bucks in these playoffs, Kyrie Irving will still not be seeing any action as he’s already been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing a knee surgery last March. Irving is expected to be ready by next season, but another thing his fans are highly anticipating is the release of his Uncle Drew movie this June. A new trailer for the flick has also been released recently just to whet the appetite of filmgoers.

The premise of this comedic picture is simple. Uncle Drew, portrayed by Kyrie Irving, is a former street ball legend, who is set to join a basketball tournament alongside his old teammates. Apart from Irving, other NBA ballers in the movie are Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, and Nate Robinson, who all play as Uncle Drew’s teammates.

Uncle Drew is produced by Temple Hills in partnership with Pepsi. Directed by Charles Stone III and also stars Nick Kroll and Lil Rel Howery, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 29.

Before getting declared out for the season, Irving was averaging 24.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in his first season in Celtics threads.

Irving was traded to the Celtics last year by the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and a pair of future picks.
