The career of 31-year-old swingman Evan Turner is in a state of limbo right now. Turner was recently traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the blockbuster four-team trade that centered around Clint Capela (now with the Atlanta Hawks) and Robert Covington (now with the Houston Rockets).

Turner was one of the many pieces moved to make this complex deal push through, but he is currently not part of the Timberwolves' plans moving forward. As such, the 6-foot-6 swingman is still trying to determine what the future holds for him. According to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, Turner is very much open to a reunion with his former team, the Boston Celtics, if he gets bought out by Minnesota:

Turner is still a member of the Timberwolves, trying to determine what’s next. Turner worked out for the Clippers last week, before L.A. signed Reggie Jackson from the Pistons. Turner is still weighing the prospect of a buyout from Minnesota, according to a source, and would also welcome a return to the Celtics.

Turner made 19 appearances for Atlanta during the first half of this 2019-20 campaign, averaging just 13.2 minutes per game in a minor bench role. Since being shipped off to Minnesota, he has yet to make an appearance for the Wolves, and it looks like his future lies elsewhere.

Evan Turner played two seasons with the Celtics between 2014 and 2016. During this stint, he averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 163 appearances for Boston.
