It's usually considered as fact that the preseason isn't as exciting to watch as the regular NFL season. However, there are instances where athletes just make an eye-catching move that people will talk about. This time, it's Cardale Jones who made an incredible play.

It was late in the second quarter, and it was third and goal. The Los Angeles Chargers' backup quarterback looked for an open player to pass to, but there wasn't anyone open. It was there and then that the fourth-round pick of the 2016 Draft made an incredible offensive play, putting his body at risk in the process.

He got out of the pocket and ran towards the right, away from San Francisco 49ers defenders. He was still scanning for open passers before he decided to rush for the TD. He then made a break for it. However, a defender made a last-ditch attempt to send him out-of-bounds.

Jones dove. The defender went for a low tackle that hit his legs. He flipped towards the goal. The 49ers were appealing for the play to not be counted. The referee raised his hands and confirmed the touchdown.

This incredible piece of play adds to Jones' impressive narrative as a football player. He helped the Ohio State Buckeyes win their only national championship under Urban Meyer, then was picked up by the Buffalo Bills in the NFL draft but was soon cut from the team.

Jones is still fighting for a roster spot, but this piece of play has already put him on the radar of many Chargers fans. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to stay on the team and actually see some snaps in relief of Phillip Rivers come the regular season.
