A new NBA season is underway and Charles Barkley is already in midseason form when it comes to his hot takes.

During TNT's pregame show Tuesday night, Barkley spouted off with this nonsense regarding who the best all-around player on the Warriors is:

Klay Thompson is the best all-around player other than LeBron James in the NBA,” Barkley said.

Well, yes, Thompson is a very good defender and a great two-way player. But the best all-around player? What do you think you're saying Sir Charles?

Thompson has evolved from a semi one-dimensional offensive threat to someone who can hurt defenses putting the ball on the floor as well. He's always worked hard on the defensive end as well.

But you still can't compare Thompson's all-around game to that of Kevin Durant or even Stephen Curry. Those two have won the last three MVPs for a reason. MVP is the closest thing we have to putting “all-around” value on an NBA player. Thompson has yet to enter that discussion and likely won't any time soon.

Barkley has always been high on Thompson and he loves saying a player who is a good defender is better all-around than someone who is mostly known for his offensive capabilities.

This time though, he may have gone too far.
