The NCAA will feature this great SEC matchup for Wednesday night! It's time to continue our college basketball odds series with a Kentucky-Texas A&M prediction and pick.

Kentucky comes into this game as the No. 12 team in the country. A 14-3 record and a 4-1 conference record puts them in third plays in the SEC. The team right above them? Texas A&M. The Aggies are 4-0 in the conference and have an overall record of 15-2. They are somehow not in the rankings but a win against Kentucky would certainly put them in the top-25.

Why Kentucky Could Cover The Spread

Since the loss to LSU a few weeks back, Kentucky now has won three straight and are fresh off of a win against No. 22 Tennessee. The Wildcats come into this game as the favorites on the road. That makes sense but Texas A&M is playing very well right now. Kentucky averages 84 points per game on offense which puts them sixth in the nation. Sahvir Wheeler's 7.3 assists per game is third in the country and he is a big part of why they score a lot of points. He also averages 10.3 points per game which is fifth on the team, so that shows how versatile they are.

Oscar Tshiebwe leads the nation with 14.9 rebounds per game. He is a huge threat on the board and that is a big reason for their success. Kentucky will cover this spread with his dominance on the boards. He also averages 16.5 points per game off of 62% shooting from the field. He is one of the most dangerous players in the NCAA and if he is on his game, then it could be a long night for the Aggies. One thing that the Wildcats need to focus on in this game is limiting turnovers because Texas A&M forces turnovers at a high rate.

Why Texas A&M Could Cover The Spread

This will likely be the Aggies' toughest opponent of the season to date. You could say it was the loss to Wisconsin, but that was back in late November. This team has won eight straight games since losing to TCU back on Dec. 11. A major part of that success is because of their defense. Texas A&M has proven to score points as well, but it's their defensive efforts that are allowing them to roll past every team they face. The Aggies are 5th in the country in steals per game averaging 10.8.

They don't have an elite threat offensively, but Quenton Jackson might be their top guy. He averages 12.9 points per game off of 47% shooting. He's only scored nine points each in his last two games but did score 31 in the blowout win over Central Arkansas. Jackson comes off the bench, however, so the team relies on forward Henry Coleman III to lead the team. He averages 11 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He shoots 60% from the floor and has scored over 14 points in his last four games. If those two are on their game then the Aggies will have a chance to cover this spread at home.

Final Kentucky-Texas A&M Prediction & Pick

Both of these teams are very similar against the spread, Kentucky is 9-8 and Texas A&M is 8-8. It's going to be interesting to see how the elite Kentucky offense will faze against the elite Texas A&M defense. It should be fun to see, and I am going to go with Kentucky to cover this spread. The Wildcats seem like the better option here, as it seems like a favorable matchup for them.

Final Kentucky-Texas A&M Prediction & Pick: Kentucky -6.5 (-110)
