David Blatt has been out of work since being fired from his head coaching job by the Cleveland Cavaliers midway through the regular season, despite leading them to a 30-11 record.

But he's done taking time off, and plans on returning to the sidelines next season, according to Jeff Zillgit of the USA Today. Although he wants to stay in the NBA, he wants to be a head coach and will go overseas, if necessary.

The Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets have shown interest in him, but from the sounds of it, he won't be chosen for any of the jobs (the Memphis and Houston positions remain open, but the Knicks recently hired Jeff Hornacek):

“I went through the interview process, and I sincerely hoped to get a job,” he said. “It didn’t work out, and I’m looking ahead. That’s all.

In Cleveland, he guided his team to an 83-40 record in his season-and-a-half spent there, but was ultimately let go in January, in large part because he wasn't on the same page as LeBron James. He also addressed this:

“You better be on the same page as your best player. If not, you’re going to be in trouble.”

Blatt clearly has some talent as a head coach and will catch on somewhere, even if it isn't in the United States. He has a 121-81 coaching record in the Euroleague and won a championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014 before joining the Cavaliers. Among other experiences, he has also served as the head coach of the Russian national basketball team, winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.
