The Sacramento Kings are a proud franchise with great players that have represented them in the past like Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac, and Mitch Richmond.

The team's current lineup features a two-time All-Star center in DeMarcus Cousins, who, at only 26-year-old, is already turning out to be one of the most skilled Kings of all-time.

When asked about what he thinks the future holds for him in Sacramento, the 6-foot-11 Kentucky product did not shy away in revealing what's really in his mind. Cousins said he expects the Kings to retire his jersey someday and be in the rafters of their home court.

“If you were to ask me, I think my jersey will be hanging in the rafters when I retire in Sacramento…my only concern is winning games every night and pushing this team to the next level.”

At this point, what keeps him from being at par with the team's legends is that all of them got a chance to compete in the playoffs. Cousins made it clear that it is also his intention and he is doing his best to motivate his teammates to eventually get there.

“It’s just a matter of us continuing to believe. Believing in my teammates and letting them know we can do this, giving them that confidence on a nightly basis.”

“My only focus is making the playoffs this year, everything else around it doesn’t matter.”

He may still have a long way to go before he can be considered the Kings' best ever, but if he continues his strong play, sheds off the immature label, and eventually help his team return to the playoffs, it will definitely help his case to make it easier for the Kings' top brass to honor him by raising his jersey at the top of Golden 1 Center in the future.
