The Sacramento Kings have been involved in trade rumors going back to the offseason. Stars like Rudy Gay and centerpiece DeMarcus Cousins have been the talk of the league, as other teams prepare packages of assets to offer in exchange for one of the two-high scoring stalwarts.

Rumors have intensified lately, with the Kings struggling to get up-and-running. They boast a poor 7-11 record that currently places them 11th in the Western Conference.

Cousins has found himself in the middle of those rumors once again, despite posting All-Star worthy numbers through 18 games (28.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks per game).

The source of Boogie trade rumors

Yet, he seems unfazed by them:

“It is what it is,” Cousins told Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE. “Most of the rumors come from people who want me on their team. It (trade rumors) doesn't bother me.”

Most teams would work to build around an All-Star center. However, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is a true wild card. Most experts believe the team is setting up to clean house and rid themselves of their top two players.

Boogie has been playing at an insane pace as of late — he's posted four consecutive 30-point games, highlighted by a monster 36-point, 20-rebound effort in a loss to the struggling Washington Wizards.

The Kings have won three out of their last five games, and their latest surge has been largely predicated on Cousins' willingness to take more three-pointers. He's attempting more than 6.1 per game during the last nine games.

The Kentucky product has plenty of reasons to be discouraged, but his attitude remains focused on winning:

“I got a season and a whole other season,” he said. “I focus on these guys right here; I focus on winning games; I focus on making the playoffs. That's it.”
