DeMarcus Cousins may not be the player who is conscious with his choice of words as he is known to use profanity a lot, especially during games which does not make him a favorite to give advice to the youth and try to inspire them.

However, after reflecting on his childhood while growing up in Alabama, the Sacramento Kings‘ center gave a message to the younger generation and reminded them not to allow anyone to dictate what's going to happen to their lives.

“I grew up in a rough area, went to an all-black school, public school. I hear some of these messages, see the kids and the messages that they're always getting – you're going to be in jail, you're going to be dead, whatever the case may be.”

“I'm like, (bleep) them. Don't let them tell you how your life's going to be. I was one of those kids, telling me I ain't gonna be (bleep). (Bleep) you, you know?”

“You make yourself be whatever the hell you want to be, at the end of the day. Nobody can tell you what your destiny is. … To this day, there's people telling me what I can't do, or who I am as a person. (Bleep) you.”

The delivery may not be the most ideal but still credit must be given to Cousins as he tried his best to inspire the youth with his message for the haters. He has also changed a lot of his ways and has received a lot of praise from his head coach, Dave Joerger.

Should he continue to improve his behavior on and off the court, it won't be surprising that he can be a positive influence for a lot of kids today as he is no doubt one of the most talented players in the world with a huge following.
