It is the final game of a three-game series as the Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Cincinnati Reds. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Diamondbacks-Reds prediction and pick.

The Diamondbacks took game one of the series. Corbin Carroll drove in the first five runs of the game, driving in one in the third, one in the fifth, and three on a home run in the seventh to give the Diamondbacks the lead. They would extend it on a Ketel Marte home run. The Diamondbacks would go on to win 6-2. The two will face again on Wednesday. Jordan Montgomery will be on the mound for the Diamondbacks. He is 1-2 with a 5.63 ERA. Meanwhile, Graham Ashcraft will be on the mound for the Reds. He is 3-1 with a 3.63 ERA.,

Why The Diamondbacks Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Diamondbacks are fifth in the majors in runs scored while sitting ninth in batting average and eighth in on-base percentage. Further, the Diamondbacks are 14th in slugging.  Christian Walker has been great for this offense so far this year. He is hitting .271 on the year with a .381 on-base percentage. He has four doubles and seven home runs, good for a team-leading 24 RBIs.
Further, he has scored 26 times. His seven home runs and 26 runs scored are tied for the most on the team with Ketel Marte. Marte is hitting .303 on the year with a .356 on-base percentage. He has 12 doubles and seven home runs, good for 18 RBIds. He has also stolen a base on the way to scoring 26 times.

Meanwhile, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been solid this year. He is hitting .234 on the year with a .276 on-base percentage. He has six doubles and five home runs, good for 22 total RBIs. Further, he has scored 19 times. Rounding out the top bats is Eugenio Suarez. Suarez has hit just .215, but with seven doubles and two home runs, he has 19 RBIs. Carbin Carroll also has had some solid production even with some struggles. He is hitting just .211 but has stolen eight bases, driven in 12 runs, and scored 15 times his year.

The Diamondbacks are 22nd in team ERA while sitting 19th in wHIP and 22nd in opponent batting average. Slade Cecconi will be on the moundfor the Diamondbacks. He is 1-2 with a 4.96 ERA this year. Last time out, he gave up six runs in just 4.1 innings of work to take the loss. Current members of the Reds have 12 career at-bats against Cecconi. They have hit .250 against him with just one RBI.

Why The Reds Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Reds are 16th in the majors in runs scored, while sitting 30th in batting average, 28th in on-base percentage, and 26th in slugging.  Spencer Steer has been sold this year. He is hitting .240 on the year with eight doubles, a triple, and four home runs. He also has 23 RBIs and has scored 18 times. His RBI total is the most on the team. Leading the team in home runs, while sitting second in RBIs is Elly De La Cruz. He is hitting .262 on the year with a .366 on-base percentage. De La Cruz has seven doubles a triple, and eight home runs this year. He has also stolen 19 bases. De La Cruz has 19 RBIS and 27 runs scored this year as well.

Chrisitan Encarnacion-Strand is third in RBIs this year, but not hitting well. Encarnacion-strand has six doubles and two home runs this year leading to 16 RBIs. He is hitting just .190 on the year while having a .220 on-base percentage. He has also scored 13 times this year.  It has also been a struggle for the Reds to score as of late. The Reds have just six RBIs in the last five games. Spencer Steer is the only one with more than an RBI in the previous five games.

The Reda are 18th in the majors in ERA, 14th in WHIP, and 13th in opponent batting average. Hunter Greene is expected to be on the mound for the Reds in this one. He is 1-2 with a 3.12 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He has not allowed a run in the last 12.2 innings over two starts. The Diamondbacks have 25 career at-bats against Greene. They are hitting .240 with a .345 on-base percentage.

Final Diamondbacks-Reds Prediction & Pick

The Reds have been struggling to score heavily as of late. They have not been solid all year, but it has been worse in the last week. Still, they should keep this one close with pitching. The Red's pitching has not been amazing, but Hunter Greene has been great in the last two starts. The best play in this game is on the total. Take the under.
