Kevin Durant has been villainized quite a bit for his decision to join the Golden State Warriors. But that doesn't also mean that all fans are going to stop supporting him.

Durant's jersey sales topped the charts this month. And, that includes in the state of Oklahoma.

An athlete switching teams and giving fans a reason to buy a new jersey always gives them an edge in jersey sales early on. It's still somewhat surprising Durant's jersey is the most popular in the state he left. You'd think maybe fans would be motivated to go out and get Russell Westbrook or Victor Oladipo jerseys.

It only took a few weeks for Durant's restaurant to shutdown in downtown OKC. Days after the decision, Thunder fans were seen burning his jersey.

The NBA is truly a global league now. You can easily be a fan of a team or player without living near where that team plays.

Durant will still be liked by a lot of fans, even if they didn't totally respect the decision. It will also be hard for fans to turn on the Warriors, who were so beloved these last few years.

Or, maybe we're underestimating the power of the bandwagon fan and that's what we're seeing here with Durant jersey sales dominating this month.
