The Toronto Raptors got off to a good start of the season after their 109-91 win over the Detroit Pistons, but despite their winning ways over the last few seasons, nothing makes head coach Dwane Casey feel better than seeing how his team and city reflect on the rest of the league.

After recent comments from All-Star forward Kevin Durant about the brother-like relationship between Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, Casey didn't hold back his smile.

“It makes you feel good. It makes you feel like a proud daddy,” Casey told Joseph Casciaro of The Score. “Those two guys represent the organization, the city. People talk about Toronto. They weren't talking about that six years ago. They were talking about ‘woe is me.' Now we're talking a different outlook. We still have work to do, but the conversation has changed, and thanks a lot to those two men and what they've accomplished and what we've done building here.”

The Raptors have indeed taken long strides in the playoffs, going as far as the Eastern Conference Finals, where they ran into the eventual champion Cleveland Cavaliers, losing 4-2.

“Now they have to go out and bring some guys like that back to Toronto,” Casey said jokingly, referring to Durant. “I can't say any names.”

Dwane Casey might not need any “guys like that” if DeRozan keeps attacking the basket the way he did last night, going for 40 points in a stretch of just three quarters against the Pistons.
