The Atlanta Hawks may be dealing with their first serious injury this season.

Their starting center and prized recruit of the summer, Dwight Howard, suffered a left quad contusion in their match against the Miami Heat Tuesday and was forced to leave the game.

The Hawks are on a back-to-back set and will play again on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. No announcement has been made yet about the 30-year-old big man's status for that game.

Should Howard be forced to sit out some games, Kris Humphries and Mike Muscala are expected to fill the void and will see an uptick in their minutes.

Howard left in the third quarter on Tuesday night but was still able to finish with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds while adding three steals.
