INDIANAPOLIS –– The Indiana Fever announced some roster transactions Friday afternoon, four days before their season opener next week. Rookie guard out of Florida, Leilani Correa, and third-year guard Maya Caldwell were waived. That leaves one more cut the Fever must make before Tuesday.

In the preseason opener at Dallas on May 3, Correa and Caldwell both played fewer than six minutes, attempted one shot, and didn’t score. The duo did not play Thursday in the 83-80 preseason win over the Atlanta Dream, cited as the coach's decision. The Fever selected Correa with the No. 27 overall pick in the third and final round of the 2024 WNBA Draft in April.

Caldwell played 30 games last season with the Fever, averaging 10.1 minutes and 1.9 points. Back in January of this year, she signed an Indiana training camp contract, and now is cut. In conjunction with the roster cuts, the Fever exercised the fourth-year options on rookie-scale contracts for guards Lexie Hull and Kristy Wallace. Both players will be under contract through the 2025 season. Hull was Indiana’s No. 6 overall pick in the 2022 Draft.

Both Hull and Wallace will be entering their third seasons in the league. During 35 preseason minutes for Hull and 29 for Wallace, each guard scored six points. Besides Correa and Caldwell in the backcourt, second-year forward Victaria Saxton was the only other Fever not to play due to the coach’s decision. The Fever begin the season next Tuesday, with another impending cut.
