The Miami Heat are now one of the teams in the league today that are in the process of rebuilding and are currently trying to establish their identity. Their “Big Three” are not playing for them anymore and now have two new players they rely heavily on, Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic.

However, despite the duo thriving in each of their games, rumors recently surfaced that the 30-year-old Slovenian international is open to being dealt to another team.

After their win at home against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, Dragic was asked to comment about his future plans and to confirm that he was open to getting moved out of South Beach. He quickly denied it and got visibly upset that news about him came out without him even saying a word yet.

Dragic also added that he enjoys life in Miami and that he has good relationships with his teammates.

“I feel comfortable in Miami. I feel great. We have a young team. I really got connected with the young guys, and I feel young, too, with them, and I would like to stay here.”

The Heat fans can certainly look at this development as good news for them as their starting point guard is showing a lot of loyalty to their team. He is a veteran that can serve as a mentor to their young core and someone the team can have with them in the long run.

This season, Dragic has been impressive so far, averaging 19.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. If he continues to play at this level as the season progresses, it will be a huge lift to the Heat as they still have hope that they can compete for one of the lower playoff seeds.
