After playing against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside experienced first hand how promising Joel Embiid‘s future is and why he has started to become the crowd favorite of their team.
The 27-year-old Marshall product was left in awe by how much Embiid is loved in Philly and could not help but feel amazed with the excitement the fans have for their young big man.

Embiid has played incredible basketball this season despite being on a minute restriction. His averages of 18.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 2.3 blocks in only 22.2 minutes per game has given the Philadelphia faithful a lot of optimism for their team's future. It also adds to his popularity that Embiid is one of the more famous players on social media with his playful and hilarious antics.
The 22-year-old Cameroonian international has also helped the team increase its ticket sales and has drawn a lot more fans to their arena. The positive effects he's given to the Sixers is being paid in return by the fans by showing him a lot of love during games.
