Due to the news no one wanted to hear, the Miami Heat have decided to sign big man Keith Benson to a training camp deal in wake of the uncertainty behind Chris Bosh.

Benson was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks and played in the NBA D-League averaging a total of 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game for the 2016 champion Sioux Falls Skyforce.

He also played five games with the Heat last season averaging 5.8 points and 5.6 rebounds before being waived early in the season on October 24th, 2016.

Prior to that, Benson also played for the Warriors for only three games before going overseas playing professionally in Belarus, China, Lithuania, Estonia, Italy, and the Philippines.

The Heat now have 20 players on their roster and will have to cut five by the end of training camp. Bosh's status is currently up in the air, so Benson has some opportunity to stick with the team.
