UFC 301: Alexandre Pantoja vs. Steve Erceg continues on the prelims with a fight in the featherweight division between Jack Shore and Joanderson Brito. Shore is coming off his first win in his new weight class in the featherweight division his last time out meanwhile, Brito is coming off four consecutive finishes as he looks for his fifth finish in a row. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Shore-Brito prediction and pick.

Jack Shore (17-1) suffered his first defeat at the hands of Ricky Simon back in 2022 and after suffering a knee injury that resulted in having surgery during training camp for a fight against Kyler Phillips, he and his camp decided to move up to featherweight. Shore was able to get back on in his new weight class when he defeated Makwan Amirkhani by second-round submission and he will be looking to continue that momentum when he takes on the dangerous Joanderson Brito this weekend at UFC 301.

Joanderson Brito (16-3-1) has now won four consecutive fights and has won four out of his five fights inside the Octagon. During his four-fight winning streak, he has finished all four of his opponents most recently choking out Jonathan Pearce in the second round. Brito will be looking to keep his finishing streak alive when he takes on Jack Shore this weekend at UFC 301.

Why Jack Shore Will Win

Jack Shore came into his fight with Ricky Simon undefeated at 16-0 but the step up in competition was deemed to be too much as he was submitted in round two via arm-triangle choke. As he was getting ready for his fight against Kyler Phillips he suffered a knee injury that cancelled the bout which required surgery. Shore and his team decided it was time for him to make the move up to the featherweight division where he was successful in his first bout in his new weight class when he submitted Makwan Amirkhani in round two. Now, Shore will be looking to continue his run at 145 lbs when he takes on Joanderson Brito this weekend at UFC 301.

Shore does his best work on the mat where he can take his opponents down, wear them out, and then eventually submit them. That will be his best path to victory in this fight against the dangerous Brito who has the power to knock out Shore into his next Tuesday. However, Shore has shown to be very durable and if his durability holds up he can drag Brito into deep waters drowning him potentially getting the late submission victory or the nod on the judge's scorecards.

Why Joanderson Brito Will Win

Joanderson Brito got the call to fight on the Contender Series after knocking out Chepe Mariscal in 44 seconds in his lone appearance with the LFA. Then he secured his contract on the Contender Series after a technical decision victory over the surging featherweight contender Diego Lopes. Since his time on the Contender Series, he has gone 4-0 in his last four fights inside the Octagon after dropping his UFC debut against Bill Algeo. Now, Brito will be looking to make it five in a row when he takes on Jack Shore this weekend at UFC 301.

Joanderson Brito is a very dangerous opponent for anyone in the featherweight division. He can finish his opponents on the feet (6 knockouts) or on the mat (8 submissions) making him a nightmare matchup for most in the division. During his four-fight winning streak, Brito has finished all four opponents with three of them coming by submission and he hasn't seen a third round since his UFC debut. Against Jack Shore, his best bet is to keep this fight on the feet where he will have the power advantage and given that Shore has been touched up on the feet before it wouldn't be shocking to see him get the knockout this weekend if he can keep it there.

Final Jack Shore-Joanderson Brito Prediction & Pick

This is a great fight to segway into the main card between these two featherweight hopefuls. Shore was looking like someone to watch out for in the bantamweight division until he ran into Ricky Simon and decided to change weight classes meanwhile, Brito on the other has been running through the competition and is looking to do the same this weekend. Ultimately, while Shore is no easy fight even for someone as dangerous as Brito it is a very tough matchup for the fighter from Wales as Brito should be the one landing thunderous shots on the feet and when he does hurt Shore and he attempts a takedown Brito can capitalize and snatch his neck like he's done time and time again to notch win five inside the Octagon.
