This may be one of the strangest stats you've seen in awhile but lets just put it out in the open. What's the record for most turnovers in a single season? That number would be about 366 total turnovers. This was the case until the Houston Rockets' James Harden Sunday night, jettisoned that record by toppling it on his way to a 40 point game in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Artis Gilmore's  season turnovers record, 366 stood for almost 40 years, but all records are made to be broken as Harden, who averages about 4.6 turnovers per game has managed to accumulate 370 turnovers on the year, and that number will go higher as the season has not yet ended.

Currently the Rockets are fighting to not miss the playoffs this year after making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals just a year ago.

The month of April has been grueling but Harden is averaging 32 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals along with 4.7 turnovers per game . This all is irrelevant in the case that the Rockets completely miss out on the post season. It would indicate a strong regression in the teams play, and possibly the departure of Dwight Howard this summer.

Houston has two games left, at Minnesota to face off against the Timberwolves, and home against the Sacramento Kings. Not only will they need to win both games, but also hope the Mavericks or the Jazz lose their remaining games.

It's do or die time in Houston.
