After a historic start to the season by stars like James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis, names like Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks often fall short of the praise they deserve.

The 6-foot-11 guard/forward hybrid is sporting career-highs across the board and often comes up in conversation as a “rising star” rather than an established player. His numbers suggest otherwise.

A line of 22 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2.1 blocks per game puts him pretty high up there as one of the most versatile and dynamic players in the game. An increased work-rate that has seen him make more field goals and free-throws than his past three seasons, coupled with an efficiency rating of 25.46, would suggest his value is that of an elite-caliber all-around player.

Bucks head coach Jason Kidd believes his star doesn't get the recognition he deserves because his name is “hard to pronounce.”

With a nickname like the “Greek Freak,” it won't take long for his notoriety to pick up if he keeps posting those numbers on a game-to-game basis.
